Bluesalbum voor Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi Lauper, bekend van de jaren '80 hits Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Time After Time en True Colors zal op 21 september haar elfde studio album, getiteld Memphis Blues, uitbrengen.

Op dit blues album hoor je Cyndi Lauper samen met blueslegendes als Allen Toussaint, B.B. King, Jonny Long en de oud-muzikanten van de huisband van het Stax label. Het album is geproduceerd door Scott Bomar en gemixed door William Wittman.
“This is the album I’ve wanted to make for years,” aldus Lauper. “All of these beautiful songs, and all of the great players on the album, were carefully chosen because I’ve admired them my entire life. And I knew from the moment Alan Toussaint hit the keys in ‘Shattered Dreams’ that we were creating something really special.”
