Het einde van het jaar dwingt muziekjournalisten tot het overzichtelijk maken van de jaarlijkse output van artiesten door middel van de jaarlijst. Een onverbiddelijke lijst die hen tot in lengte van jaren - het is immers internet - zal blijven volgen.

Dat het samenstellen van een jaarlijst een gotspe is, daar zal de lezer geen boodschap aan hebben. Ook niet aan het feit dat het lijstje - en zeker de volgorde daarvan - met de dag kan wisselen. Sommige albums hebben zelfs jaren nodig om tot volle wasdom te komen. En dan word je jaren later geconfronteerd met het feit dat jij die ene klassieker "zelfs niet in je jaarlijstje had staan!". Enfin, we hebben met z'n allen toch maar een poging gewaagd het jaar terug te brengen naar een overzichtelijke lijst aan de hand waarvan je als lezer je omissies kunt aanvullen. De plaat van het jaar moet immers in je platenkast staan, of je hem nou leuk vindt of niet. Dus hierbij voor alle liefhebbers van lijstjes het jaaroverzicht volgens de auteurs van Muziek.nl.
